Today was a reorganization day at home. We’d recently moved the dining room table for an event, and we loved the open space it left behind. So, we got to brainstorming—and just like that, the dining room table became a new office desk; the old desk moved to another room, and the leftover table? Gone. Gone like a bad habit.
As we moved the desk, I had to go through the drawers—camera straps for cameras I no longer own, random USB cables, and a phone case for a phone that doesn’t work anymore. Out they went. A few minutes of decluttering felt like a small victory. It’s amazing how getting rid of unnecessary stuff clears up mental space. Freedom! Fewer things, fewer distractions. It’s like letting your brain breathe.
I love this process—changing things up, getting new perspectives. Suddenly, that old table looks beautiful in the office. It was like it had been waiting for this moment. I’ve moved furniture around countless times—my husband laughs at me for rearranging rooms every six months. It’s a habit. I clean out cupboards, drawers, and shelves, reorganizing and rearranging again and again. But each time, I feel more grounded, more focused, more productive.
I recently read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. While her focus is on tidying physical spaces, I realized this idea can be applied to other areas of life—digital spaces, emails, or even mental clutter. Kondo asks if each item sparks joy. Do those emails from Mills Fleet Farm really add value to your life? Do they spark joy? Or are they just taking up space, distracting us from focusing on what really matters?
Clutter, in any form, holds us back. It can keep us from focusing on the things that truly matter, making us feel overwhelmed by distractions. And when we're overloaded with distractions—whether from mental clutter, too much screen time, or poor habits—it can make it even harder to make healthier choices. But it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You don’t need to overhaul everything at once.
That’s where Wellestar Coaching comes in. Just like organizing a room step by step, we guide you through making small, intentional changes. Whether it’s improving your sleep habits, cleaning up your diet, adding movement to your day, or setting up healthier routines, each small step leads to meaningful transformation. We meet you where you are and help you focus on the changes that will make the greatest impact first.
It’s not about extremes. It’s not about suddenly cutting everything out or flipping your life upside down. Whether you’re juggling a busy schedule or striving to improve your health, the focus is on one change at a time. One habit, one routine, one small adjustment that will make you feel more grounded and energized. And in no time, you'll be strutting through life with confidence—like you’ve already decluttered your destiny.
